SQL SERVER SOME QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS.



What is the significance of NULL value and why should we avoid permitting null values?
Null means no entry has been made. It implies that the value is either unknown or undefined.We should avoid permitting null values because Column with NULL values can't have PRIMARY KEY constraints. Certain calculations can be inaccurate if NULL columns are involved.

What is SQL whats its uses and its component ?
The Structured Query Language (SQL) is foundation for all relational database systems. Most of the large-scale databases use the SQL to define all user and administrator interactions. It enable us to retrieve the data from based on our exact requirement. We will be given a flexibility to store the data in our own format.

Error while going for Project arrow Request Registration /Status updation

Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool Released


Microsoft has released a new tool called as Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool that will help you resolve issues you may face with the .NET Framework on your Windows computer.

This tool troubleshoots common issues with the setup of or with updates to Microsoft .NET Framework setup installation. Additionally, this tool tries to resolve these issues by applying known fixes or by repairing the installed product. 

Specifically, the tool will typically carry out the following tasks: 

· Re-register Windows Installer service. It unregisters and re-registers the Windows Installer service using MsiExec.exe. Applicable regardless of the diagnosis results. 

· Restart Windows Installer service. It stops and restarts the Windows Installer service. Applicable regardless of the diagnosis results. 

If any additional fixes need to be applied, those too will be recommended on completion of the run. 

While one may need to troubleshoot .NET Frameworks 4.0 Install Issues on Windows manually, or run the .NET Framework Setup Cleanup Utility and try to install the .NET Framework again, running the new .NET Framework Repair Tool from Microsoft should now be the first option, should you be facing any .NET Framework issues on your Windows computer.

The file 'NL_20120430.exe' should be copied to DBAnalyzer folder and executed after completion of day's transactions. This will update the negative list upto 30/04/2012 in Sanchay Post. (Corrections received upto 12/06/2012)

In addition to Negative List, updations relating to PINCODE details are also done in the database. Hence, execution of this patch will take longer than the usual updation time. System Administrators should ensure that the server is not switched off till successful execution of the patch.

To confirm updation, use 'DBAnalyzer >> Database Discrepancies >> NSC >> Details of negative list updation' option.

How to configure OLIVETTY PASSBOOK Printer to work through USB Cable ?

HOLD BOTH STATION1 and STATION2 BUTTONS IN THE PRINTER
Switch on the printer
Leave the Buttons
Insert the paper into the printer
Automatically Printer will take the paper inside and a message will be printed as follows

STATION 1-CONFIRM STATION 2=SKIP PRESS LOCAL TO CONTINUE
Press LOCAL and then STATION 1
The Default Configuration will be printed as follows

MENU : CONFIG Press STATION 1
DRAFT SPEED: NORMAL Press STATION 1
LQ TYPE: NLQ1 Press STATION 1
PAPER WIDTH: FIRST LINE Press STATION 1
BUZZER: Y Press STATION 1
INTERFACE By default SERIAL or COM1 will be there Press STATION2
Till USB is printed and then Press STATION 1

How to Adjust MPCM Sticker Settings(Receipt Printing)












To day In my office The configurations of MPCM Receipt Sticker Configurations are changed while they are printing a receipt. In the new form the receipt is printed in two stickers instead of one. This will cause the wasting of MPCM stickers and these are very difficult to paste in articles. We used various methods to change the configurations Changing the printer test option in MPCM applications,Re installation of printer drivers. But these methods were not worked in this case. We contacted many system administrators but none of them came across this type of problem. This occurs due to the rapid change in the printer settings. In my office we are using TVS MSP 240 classic printers.

R NET COMMUNICTION PROBLEM IN NON DELIVERY SOS



In Case of Non delivery postoffices while we running the R NET Communication after upgradation to update-1 of Meghdoot 7.0 Sometimes an error occurs. After updation while looking for getting officer masters through R NET communication the following error message occurs.This problem can be solved by replacing the new R NET Communication Exe.Please download the latest R Net communication exe from the link given below.
Rename the original exe and the replace the existing one with the new exe downloaded. 
And then check.

We are receiving Daily e-mail from Divisional office Regarding epayment Client not called offices"  Here is a batch file for automatic running of Various Clients


Type the code in a text file and save the notepad as extension .bat. You can put this batch file either in Task sheduler or Start up

Fatal error in Sanchayapost


 one of our suboffice   an error is comming while taking withdrawal in SB, MIS, andNSC Encashment. The Screen shot of the error is given below.

Solution1.Run latest DBAnalyzer. Select 'DBUtilities >> Check Database Consistency' option and run it for all databases
The problem relates to corrupted tables in the BPRO database. .
The first option is to restore a fairly recent backup in which the DBCC Checkdb command does not report errors and then to update the database with transactions for the subsequent days.

The second option is to run the query given by us through query analyser.This solution given  may result in a certain degree of data loss proportionate to the corruption of data.The extent and amount of data loss cannot be determined before running the query. Run the  query given below from SQL Query Analyser after taking a backup and after obtaining permission from your divisional \ regional offices and informing them of the data loss which might occur.
